Swing Time is Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag’s eighth national tour together. Having not paid them a visit since their very first outing in 2009 I was curious to see how these Strictly veterans were keeping things fresh and relevant. It’s tougher now, after all, to secure a Strictly fans investment in a particular show with so many to choose from as for the first time in 2017, without exception, every professional involved in the main series can be seen in your hometown or somewhere nearby several months later.
Du Beke and Boag are supported by the smooth vocals of Lance Ellington, fans will immediately recognise his voice from the Strictly ballroom as well as six hard-working backing dancers (Scott Coldwell, Hayley Ainsley, Luke Field-Wright, Victoria Hinde, Adam Lyons and Francesca Moffat) who contribute just as much as Du Beke and Boag. It was a shame they were never named on stage and one had to buy a programme to discover who they are.
Many fixtures have remained similar with Du Beke and Boag doing what they do best, floating across the stage with a sumptuous selection of Waltzes, Foxtrots and Quicksteps to 50s and 60s classics such as Moon River …
